LINGAYEN– The provincial board here, through an approved resolution, protested the decision of the Social Security System (SSS) to transfer the towns of Aguilar, Basista, Mangatarem, and Urbiztondo under the jurisdiction of the Camiling Tarlac SSS branch.

In its Resolution no. 1462-2015, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan took exception “to the transfer of the four towns under the jurisdiction of Camiling branch although they had long been under the Alaminos branch.

The four towns in the second district, were originally under the functional jurisdiction of the SSS Alaminos Branch.

The SP said the transfer of the four towns is tantamount to “dismembering the territorial integrity of the province of Pangasinan.”

The Board further felt the transfer will have negative impact in the preparation of investment plan of the province since data will have to be secured in another province.

The resolution authored by Second District Board Members Nestor Reyes and Raul Sison was also in support to the sentiments of the local chief executives in the affected towns who have asked for the return of the branch. (Johanne R. Macob)
