THE Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund)-Dagupan branch offers calamity loan to its members living in areas declared under state of calamity.

Member Services Officer Becker Van Ramos said Fund members from the municipalities of Bani and Calasiao can avail of the calamity loan as these communities were proclaimed under state of calamity.

“The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dagupan proclaimed its 19 villages as calamity-stricken areas but later decided to declare the whole city under state of calamity last July 28,” Ramos said.

Active Pag-IBIG Fund members may loan up to 80 percent of their total savings with a very low-interest rate of 5.95 percent per annum and payable within two years, he said during the Pantongtongan Tayo radio program of PIA-Pangasinan on Tuesday.

“Any outstanding balance on previous calamity or multi-purpose loan will be deducted from the proceeds of the new loan,” he added.

Ramos said that Pag-IBIG Fund-Dagupan branch shall accept loan applications for processing within 30 days from the declaration of state of calamity.

Qualified applicants should submit a fully accomplished calamity loan application form and a photocopy of two valid identification cards (IDs) to the Pag-IBIG Fund office in Burgos Street, this city, he said.

This move is part of government efforts to extend assistance to Pangasinenses who were badly affected by the recent calamity. (VHS/AMM/PIA-1, Pangasinan)
