Malasiqui receives new fire truck from DILG

BALON MALASIQUI NEWS

MALASIQUI-After almost 34 years, the municipal government of Malasiqui finally has acquired a new fire truck from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) last August 17.

Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. said the P5.9-M fire truck is a timely replacement for the fire truck circa 1982 that may soon be discarded because of its dilapidated condition.

He recalled how embarrassed they were when the nearby town of Calasiao requested for back-up during a fire but their old fire truck did not reach the location as it broke down along the way and instead had to be towed back to Malasiqui.

Domantay said the new fire truck which has a capacity of holding 4,000 liters of water and is capable of reaching a seven-storey building will be very useful.

Prior to the release of the truck, firemen from the town underwent a three to four days orientation seminar on the proper usage of the equipment.

The fire truck was requested from DILG Secretary Mar Roxas by the local government together with Third District Rep. Rosemarie Arenas.

“We are so thankful that our request was granted”, Domantay said. The town has been a recipient of the Seal of Good Housekeeping by the DILG. (Hilda Austria)
