Alaminos eyes coastal management plan

ALAMINOS CITY– This city, known for its Hundred Islands, is set to develop its integrated coastal management plan to help in the protection and conservation of the its abundant biodiversity.

This was disclosed by officer-in-charge at the city environment and natural resources office, Narciso Aragon, after a workshop on Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) last July 22-23.

Aragon urged all stakeholders to take part in the crafting of a skeletal integrated coastal resource management plan for the whole city.

The workshop was conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 1, based on E.O. No. 533 that identified ICM as a national strategy to ensure sustainable development of the coastal and marine environment and resources. (Johanne Macob)
