Drug raids yield 31 sachets, P1.010-M cash

BINMALEY–About 31 sachets of shabu and P1,010,000 cash believed to be proceeds from selling illegal drugs were seized by combined police elements in two separate raids in Barangay San Isidro Norte here Monday.

Arrested were Marivic Reyes, 40, brothers Dexter and Jordan Castro, aged 25 and 18 respectively after their houses were raided by lawmen based on search warrants issued by Presiding Judge Renato Pinlac of Regional Trial Court Branch 57 in San Carlos City.

Law enforcers seized from Reyes 11 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

Also confiscated were 11 sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia from the house of Jose Castro, who is at large and father of the Castro brothers plus 60 pieces of P1,000 bill believed to be proceeds of illegal drug activities, four pieces of live ammunition for caliber 9mm and five pieces live ammunition for caliber. 45 during the search.

The raid on the Castro brothers yielded a combined nine sachets of shabu and other paraphernalia and P 950,000 cash believed to be proceeds from their shabu transactions. (Tita Roces)
