THE Legion of Justice representing Team Dagupan bagged the championship during the 5th Inter Judiciary-Department of Justice Sportsfest at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen from June 5 to 6.

The champion team headed by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Caridad Villegas Galvez was composed of judges of the RTCs, Municipal Trial Courts in cities and from the DOJ composed of the city prosecutor and his assistants and from the Public Assistance Office (PAO) all from the Justice Hall in Dagupan.

The other members of the judiciary and DOJ that competed were from Villasis, Tayug and Rosales (VITARO) and from Urdaneta, Lingayen, San Carlos City, Alaminos and Burgos.

They competed in basketball, volleyball (men and women), tug-of-war, track and field, badminton, table tennis and chess.

A basketball competition between the visiting team of Court Administrator Midas Marquez and a selection from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) chapter was held which was won by the former.

IBP is headed by Atty. Baby Ruth Torre.

Meanwhile, the Lingayen team won in the cheering competition while Dagupan placed second.

The competition was aimed at fostering camaraderie and friendship as well as promote physical fitness and sportsmanship among members of the judiciary and DOJ in Pangasinan. (Rod Ibasan)
