Only the best for Pangasinenses

COJUANCO UPDATES

FORMER Pangasinan Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco said whenever he does projects, he wants them to be one of the best, if not the best. He takes foremost into consideration the people who would use them so they would enjoy these facilities to the fullest.

Such was in his mind when he thought of constructing multi-purpose community centers that are of “five-star quality”, as he described them.

These were built in the towns of Alcala, Sto. Tomas and Pozorrubio that cost about P7-million each from his then Priority Development Assistance Fund when he was still congressman.

During those times, he said he wanted to give his constituents and other users the convenience of having a meeting place with the best rest rooms nowhere else in the Pangasinan can be found.

He said the square meters or the space where these were put up and the quality of the materials used are truly admirable.

ALCALA

The multi-purpose community center with five-star quality rest room (front structure) beside the town gymnasium in Alcala town, built from congressional funds of then Cong. Mark Cojuangco.

“They are not just rest rooms. These are multi-purpose community centers,” he said.

Cojuangco said Pangasinenses, especially those who are from the fifth district, can proudly invite their foreign guests to these places and would not feel a bit embarrassed.

“You see its veranda? People hold their meetings there,” he said.

The place is very comfortable, clean, very pleasant, spic and span. These had been turned over to the local government units concerned for its upkeep and maintenance.

A blogger, named Maria Marilyn Madrid, wrote in her article with pictures, one of them posted here (http://www.blogph.net/2014/06/alcala-pangasinan-public-park-playground.html), “The public park and playground at Alcala, Pangasinan is probably the largest of its kind I’ve seen so far at least. The enormous space where the park lies can be comparable to that of a football field. It offers numerous play bars where school kids from an adjacent elementary school as well as neighboring barangays and even other areas too can enjoy. We’re from a nearby town about 12.5 kilometers away and we don’t mind the 16 minutes drive to drop kids.

While waiting and watching the kids, you can walk around to take a bite of street foods being peddled by locals. You can also sit and relax in a shed with radio music broadcasting over the speakers. There are also clean and comfy rest rooms within the park.”

In an article titled “The Impact of a Clean Restroom on Business

by Jonathan Lister , Demand Media ,” he wrote that, “A clean restroom encourages positive feelings in customers about your business. This is because customers can equate the cleanliness of your company’s bathroom with the cleanliness of your entire business.”

The article pointed out that as of December 2010, about 75 percent of U.S. adults wouldn’t return to a restaurant with a dirty bathroom. This means a clean bathroom can lead to repeat business and higher earnings.

If your business is in a service industry, including the hospitality industry, maintaining clean restrooms helps put customers at ease about the rest of your operations. Customers encountering unclean restrooms can develop negative images about your business and may come to distrust your company in other areas, including customer service support and billing, according to CleanLink.

It was precisely because of these reasons that Cojuangco wanted to make Pangasinenses and their visitors, especially the foreign guests, to have that feeling of coming over and over in the province through the positive image these multi-purpose community centers with five-star quality restrooms may create to their users.

Cojuangco has announced his intent to run for governor in 2016 elections.
