BRIGADA ESKWELA UPDATE

MANGALDAN–The “Brigada Eskwela” volunteers at the Bantayan Integrated School were more enthusiastic in cleaning and beautifying the school after they were told that the school was adjudged last year’s best implementor of Brigada Eskwela nationwide by the Department of Education (DepEd).

Mayor Bonafe Parayno, who again led the launching of this year’s “Brigada Eskwela”, said she too, was overwhelmed by the national achiever’s award won by Bantayan Integrated School, besting all other schools across the nation in terms of participation and results.

“It’s a big honor for our town and also for our province, said Ms. Parayno who acknowledged the big role of parents and teachers that led to such a national feat.

The launching of the Brigada Eskwela at the Bantayan Integrated School became more significant when Gov. Amado Espino Jr., Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim and other officials and employees of the provincial government arrived to personally congratulate the parents, teachers, and school officials.

The volunteers expressed confidence that their efforts for the school will again reap honors this year with the bigger participation of parents, teachers and other stakeholders including the Boy Scouts of the Philippines who all responded to the call for help in preparing the school.

The mayor thanked her constituents including the civic and non-government organizations that participated and helped provide materials for the cleaning of the public schools.

Ms. Parayno said the community felt elated by the gesture shown by the governor and his entourage who came personally to congratulate the volunteers for their achievement. (Leonardo Micua)
