Leadership seminar for Pangasinan OFW Family Association held
LINGAYEN — The Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) in coordination with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region I conducted an orientation and leadership seminar for members of the Pangasinan OFW Family Federation last May 26.
PESO Manager Alex Ferrer said the seminar sought to help members learn about the various programs and projects being offered by the province and the OWWA not only to the OFWs but also to members of their families.
Provision of livelihood programs is among the development priority programs of the Espino administration to help improve the quality of life of Pangasinenses.
The province launched the “Bantay Barangay, Tulong Hanapbuhay” program in August 2014 to address the problems on illegal recruitment and human trafficking with the “use of inter-agency resources by convergence and developing capabilities of OFW families by volunteerism.”
Among other benefits of the OFW Association include the priority in overseas employment even without work experience, access to the province’s Credit Surety Fund, and livelihood and skills trainings. (PIO)
