Farmer shot dead over mangoes
A FARMER was shot dead in the morning of May 18 in Barangay Lepa, Malasiqui during an altercation between his group and another.
The fatality was Gil Tulagan, 55, who was shot on the right side of his body and was rushed to the Malasiqui Municipal Health Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspects were identified as one Rogelio Ferrer and Jay-R Ferrer, both of Barangay Amacalan, Malasiqui who escaped on board a motorcycle.
The suspects were allegedly offended when Mariano Tulagan, 84, stopped the Ferrers’ group from harvesting mangoes on the land owned by one Genaro Paed in Barangay Lepa where the Tulagans, including the victims’ cousin Salvador are tenants.
The Ferrers briefly left the place and when they returned, one approached Gil Tulagan, and shot him.
They are now the objects of manhunt by the Malasiqui police. (Leonardo Micua)
