Dagupan in Asia’s Ethnic Food Show

DAGUPAN City’s local products were featured in the International Food Exhibition (IFEX) alongside other Asia’s ethnic food and ingredients over the weekend at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Dagupan showcased deboned and marinated bangus, smoked (tinapa) bangus, bangus in oil, alamang, monamon, suman and pinipig, peanut bites, banana chips, and dried fish- Dagupan Certified products.

The products were made by womenfolk in the city who were trained on food processing under the Project Belen or Better Education for Livelihood and Employment Needs.

“I want Dagupan bangus to be recognized in global market and to let the world know that our very own Dagupan bangus now has the “Dagupan Certified” tag so consumers can now buy genuine Dagupan bangus.” Mayor Belen Fernandez said.

Over 700 food exporters from other countries were expected to participate. (CIO)
