POZORRUBIO— The town police pursued and arrested two members of ‘Budol- budol’ gang who sold fake gold bars to a couple here last Monday.

Fortunately for the couple, Lito and Marcelina Padaco, they discovered that they were merely given gold-plate metals and not gold bars early enough and managed to alert the police of the fraud transaction.

P/Chief Insp. Ryan Manongdo, officer-in-charge of PPS, identified the suspects Harold Cadian y Poklis, 42 years old, a native of La Trinidad, Benguet and Alfonso Kibod y Langbayan, 59 years old, a native of Suyo, Sagada, Mountain Province, and now residents of Barangay Tulnac and Barangay Palacpalac.

Found in their possession was P300, 000 in cash.

Cadian and Kibod tried to evade arrest by running out to a rice field.

Manongdo said, apparently the two swindlers had already victimized other residents but unlike the Padaco couple who quickly reported the incident, they chose not to report the incident out of embarrassment. (Hilda Austria)
