More kids take free shower

THE hot weather in Sitio Patalan, Barangay Pantal last April 15 was countered with a refreshing shower for more than 1,300 children benefited by the “Libreng Paligo Project” of the city government in partnership with multinational company Procter and Gamble.
The activity was witnessed by the general manager of Procter and Gamble Philippines, Shankar Viswanathan, who joined Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and the rest of the barangay council led by Punong Barangay Julie Perez in bathing the children.
After their shower, the children were given loot bags consisting of Safeguard soap, shampoo, feminine napkin, oral-B toothbrush, Olay soap and free t-shirts for all the children.
Then the kids proceeded to eat their meals consisting of macaroni soup, sotanghon and cereal drink.
In the same occasion, doctors and nurses from the City Health Office also conducted free medical checkup, gave free medicines and free HIB vaccine for children aged 1 to 4 years old.
