SAN CARLOS CITY— This city organized activities to create further awareness towards the observance and celebration of Women’s Month anchored on the theme, “Juana, Desisyon Mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw Na!”-

A lecture on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and on other related issues was held last week at the Arenas-Resuello Sports Complex to make women aware of the provisions of the law intended to protect them and children.

Pregnant women joined the Mrs. Buntis pageant which categorized entries as under non-high risk pregnancy, at least five months pregnant at the time of the contest proper (and received at least one tetanus toxoid and three three pre-natal checkups with certification from rural health physician).

Women will be given free bone screening and free calcium on March 16-20 and a lecture on the prevention and control of AIDS/HIV, reproductive tract infections, and maternal care and nutrition on March 25. (Johanne Macob/PNA)
