Cops undergo human rights seminar

LINGAYEN – Some 100 policemen assigned to different towns were made to attend a one-day seminar on human rights last week.

The seminar focused o PNP Human Rights-Based Policing, and R.A 9745 or the Anti-Torture Law.

Lecturers included P/Supt Geraldo P. Roxas, Chief, RHRDO, PRO1; and Danilo T. Balino, Information Officer III, CHR RO1.

Board member Mojamito R. Libunao, Jr.,  chairman of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, commended the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) headed by Officer-in-Charge  P/Sr. Supt Reynaldo Biay for conducting a whole-day Human Rights Seminar for Patrollers.

Libunao stressed the need for policemen to acquire fresh perspective on human rights pointing out that “civilians deserve to be respected with regards to their human rights.” (PIO)
