Pozorrubio, Mangatarem cops shave heads

IN SYMPATHY FOR FALLEN 44

POZORRUBIO—The police chief here had his hair shaved off to show “respect, sympathy and call for truth and justice for the ‪‎Fallen44”.

P/Chief Inspector Ryan Manongdo posted a picture on his Facebook account showing his head being shaved with a comment -”To my underclassmen, fellow PNP SAF Commando and fellow law enforcers who made the greatest sacrifice so that others might live in peace, please accept my simple act of respect, sympathy and call for truth and justice to your deaths.”

Manongdo, also class president of Philippine National Police Academy Marangal 2005 and PNP SAF Commando 35, said he did it as his way of expressing his personal sentiment over the SAF massacre in Maguindanao.

The rest of the stations’ personnel later followed suit and had their heads shaved too.

In Mangatarem Municipal  Police Station, some police members also had their heads shaved to show sympathy for their fallen comrades.

“We unite to improve our services, not only in expressing our sympathies and we are inspired by the heroism made by the SAF members,” Chief Inspector Rex Infante,  Mangatarem police chief said.

Two of the Fallen44 were from Pangasinan, namely Police Officers 2 Ephraim Mejia of San Nicolas town and Romeo Senin II from San Fabian town.- (Tita Roces)
