More jobs open for construction workers, engineers

PESO chief Alex Ferrer said more engineers are needed in the Middle East, particularly following the hiring of large groups of construction workers in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

The various districts of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are also in need of construction workers from the province to fill the manpower needs for various infrastructure projects.

District Engineer Marietta Mendoza of DPWH-4th District Engineering Office said at least 2, 000 skilled and non-skilled workers are needed to fill the demand this year.

Ferrer said residents are given priority since a law mandates contractors to employ locals of the province, city and town where the taxpayer-funded infrastructure will be constructed. (PIA)
