Laoac cycling tilt set March 4
PANGASINAN veteran amateur riders in the province will prove their mettle anew when the Laoac Cycling Challenge unfurls on March 4 during the town’s fiesta celebration.
The bikefest will traverse the national highways of Laoac, Manaoag, Pozorrubio and Binalonan four times for a distance of 105 kilometers.
With 60 participants expected, the race will have three categories, elite-amateur, master and grandmaster/executive divisions with cash prizes, trophies and medals are up for grabs on each division.
“We’re holding the bikefest annually during our fiesta celebration as one of our contributions to the province sports development program,” said Laoac Mayor Silverio Alarcio, a cycling supporter. “Our town was the first producer of national cycling champions in the persons of Rufino Gabot and Gonzalo Recodos and we’re very proud about that.”
