2015 ASNA Awardees open for nominations

LINGAYEN – The Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) is now accepting nominations to the 2015 ASNA Awards.

Nomination forms are now available and inquiries and submission of nominations may be coursed through the PTCAO which acts as the ASNA Awards Secretariat.

Deadline of submission of nominees will be on February 16, 2015.

Now on its sixth year, the ASNA Awards was launched on April 5, 2010 as one of the major events that highlighted the 430th Foundation Anniversary of Pangasinan.

The activity seeks to recognize outstanding Pangasinenses whose dedication to their profession or vocation have resulted in significant contributions to the welfare of the people in Pangasinan and to the country.

The awards are given to Pangasinenses who excelled in the fields of government service, community service, arts and culture, medicine, agriculture and aquaculture, mass communications, business and entrepreneurship, law, education, science and technology and sports.

The Balitok Award which is a special ASNA award given to Pangasinenses “whose significant contributions transcended the national and international arena and whose place in Pangasinan history has been embedded by the very nature of the scope of their achievements.”

Asna is an old form of the Pangasinan word “asin” (salt) which alludes to a person’s expert knowledge of his profession. (PIO)
