Pope Francis’ new katukayos in Pangasinan
LINGAYEN—Unknown perhaps to Pope Francis, the baby-lover who sought out babies from the crowds to kiss and bless, parents of newborn babies honored him unabashedly.
Their babies had to have “Francis” as one of the babies’ names.
In Pangasinan, there were 14 babies born in different Pangasinan hospitals during the papal state and pastoral visit in the Philippines known to have been named after Pope Francis.
Dr. Jeremy Rosario, assistant provincial health officer, said the babies’ parents want to perpetuate the memories of the Pope’s visit by naming them after him.
Seven of the babies were born in Pangasinan Provincial Hospital In San Carlos City, namely: Francis Ivan Rovillos, Francis Catalan, John Francis Viray, John Paul Francis Soriano, Jeff Francis Arroyo, Hanz Francis Calingo and Jhon Francis Solomon.
At the Lingayen District Hospital, five babies named Francis by their parents but his source failed to give the babies’ full names.
