CAPITOL NEWS

LINGAYEN- – -“The real essence of this team building is getting together to establish a strong Team Pangasinan.”

This was said by Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. before more than 500 provincial employees who participated in the second batch of the Provincial Employees’ Team Building 2015 last January 19-20 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) here.

The governor said that the first edition which was conducted at Patar beach in Bolinao in 2009 has provided a ‘sense of belongingness’ among the provincial government’s 4,000 employees from different offices and government hospitals.

“We have successfully attained our goal to provide everyone that sense of belongingness. This time, we are here to strengthen the bond that we built as a team,” he disclosed.

The provincial chief executive also thanked all employees from the top positions down to the lowest ranks as he added that the team has contributed a lot to every achievement that the province earned over the years of his administration.

Fr. Rendrix Rabago, who was the speaker for the “ritual of light and love,” said that as public servants, an employee must adhere to the principles of ‘genuine love of service’ which is unconditional and unlimited.

Provincial Legal Officer Geraldine Baniqued, on the other hand, stressed on the importance of individual roles in an institution as she said that each office has different functions but contribute to the solid framework of a team.

This year, the team building activity has been scheduled in five batches. The first batch kicked off last January 16-17 while the 3rd to 5th batches are scheduled on January 21-22, 26-27, and 29-30, respectively.

Janette C. Asis, Human Resource Management and Development Officer, said that the project is part of the provincial government’s goal to provide a holistic program that seeks to form a complete package that will transform each employee as an effective team player of Team Pangasinan.

This, according to her, is one of the best ways to effectively attain the envisioned vision and mission of the present administration.

Several activities were held during the two days session to include lectures and activities anchored on team roles, team development, team communication, and team conflict.

The plenary session, with the governor and the department heads, which is held on the night of the first day of each session, serves as the venue for fellowship and team bonding.

For each team-building batch, participants are divided into four clusters. Each cluster is composed of employees from different offices.

Team games are among the highlights of the two-day activity which aimed to establish unity, cooperation, and strong bond among the participants. /RBernardino
