St. Albert, DWAD post second win in a row
SEAOIL-NBTC ELITE LEAGUE
ST. Albert the Great School (SAGS) and Divine Word Academy of Dagupan (DWAD) sustained their momentum to dominate their foes after registering second wins in as many games even as two other teams posted their first win in the Local City Tournament of the Junior Regional Championships of the Seaoil-NBTC (National Basketball Training Center) Elite League, Season 2014-15, last week, at the Peoples Astrodome.
On December 13, SAGS devoured Wonderland School (WS), 61-42; and DWAD tamed Judge Jose de Venecia Sr. Memorial NHS (JJDVSMNHS), 56-37, while Dagupan City NHS chopped East Central Integrated School (ECIS), 65-28. With their wins, SAGS and DWAD are assured of berths in the quarterfinal round.
On December 14, Lyceum-Northwestern University NU-FQD Special Science High School (LNU-FQDSSHS) dumped Bonuan Boquig NHS (BBNHS), 68-41; Pangasinan Universal Institute (PUI) tripped DCNHS, 67-54; and La Marea Academy (LMA) edged University of Luzon (UL), 80-76.
Latest team standings: Group A – DWAD, 2-0; JJDVSMNHS, 1-1; Mother Goose SSS (MGSSS) , 0-2; Federico N. Ceralde Integrated School (FNCIS), 0-0. Group B – PUI, 1-0; DCNHS, 2-1; La Salette, 0-1; ECIS, 0-1. Group C – SAGS, 2-0; LNU-FDSSHS, 1-0; BBNHS, 1-2; WS, 0-2. Group D – St. Michael School by the Sea (SMSS), 1-0; LMA, 1-0; UL, 0-2.
Elite League city commissioner Edilberto R. Abalos said the top two seeds in each group after the elimination will advance to the quarterfinals.-(Philamer C. Celi)
