LINGAYEN – “If you want to serve our province, you have to love it first. If you want to serve our people in Pangasinan, you must love the province itself as a whole.”

This was the advice of Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. to the 300 reserve officers that attended the Pangasinan Reservists Assembly held at the Sison Auditorium last November 30, 2014.

Espino was the guest of honor of the assembly organized by Col. Aniceto D. Vicente CAV (GSC) PA, the Group Commander of the 1st Regional Community Defense Group in Pangasinan.

“I spent the best of my youth, the best of my professional career as an officer in the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” the governor said shared some memories when he served as the provincial commander of the province, and Pangasinan was cited the best provincial command and Region One as the best regional command under his directorship.

“But the Armed forces are builders of men and builders of nation. We must be very, very strong. We must have our own conviction. Let us be builders of our province”, Espino stressed.

“Our training is quite different because we are goal keepers. We set our goals; we set our mission; we set our vision,” he added.

Col. Tirso G. Baustista (RES) PA, Commander of 1601stRRBde, thanked the governor for his support for the assembly.

The reservists’ office and PNP office will be erected in the Provincial Capitol before May next year. (PIO)
