Arms cache seized in Sual

SUAL— A number of unlicensed handguns were seized through an entrapment operation conducted by the Sual Police Station (SPS) last November 28 in this town.

A joint element of the SPS led by its chief Senior Inspector Leo Llamas and the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office conducted entrapment operations in Barangay Paitan East, Sual that led to the seizure of the cache of unlicensed guns and arrest of four suspects.

Confiscated from the suspects were three caliber (cal.) 45 Colt, one cal. 9-milimeter (mm) Intratec Miami FL automatic pistol, four magazines for cal. 45, two magazines for cal. 9-milimeter Intratec Miami FL, 23 live ammunitions for cal. 45, 13 live ammunitions for cal. 9-milimeter Intratec Miami FL, one silencer for cal. 9-mm Intratec Miami FL.

Last Dec. 1, SPS filed a case of violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act against Rogelio Garcia Jr. for selling one 9-milimeter (mm) Intratec Miami FL automatic pistol.

Three separate cases of for illegal possession of firearms were filed against the other suspects.

The suspects are still under the custody of SPS awaiting a court order for commitment while the seized firearms were forwarded to the Pangasinan Provincial Crime Laboratory for ballistic and cross-matching examinations. (Johanne Macob/PNA)
