THE four stations of the National Food Authority in Western Pangasinan Branch (NFA-WPGS) continue to buy palay from farmers.

According to NFA Provincial Manager Rolando S. Rufo, to help farmers bring their palay produce to NFA’s Warehouses, a mobile procurement team can proceed to the farm or to any designated point upon the request of the Individual Farmers and/or Farmers’ Cooperative.

Farmers Association/Organizations/Cooperatives that deliver their palay produce to the agency, can avail of: 1) Farmers Option to Buy-Back (FOBB) within 6 months for resale to traders if palay prices are better than the NFA’s buying price. 2) Farmers Incentive Rice (FAIR) Purchase Program that entitles farmers to buy from NFA up to 25% of rice recovery from palay stocks they sold to the agency from the previous year and intended for their consumption during lean months when prices are relatively high. 3) Cooperative Development Incentive Fee (CDIF), a 30 centavos incentive per/kg of palay deliver for the purchase of post harvest facilities like mechanical dryer, solar dryer, reaper, thresher among others.
