READY TSE-KAP, GO

MORE runners in Pangasinan are expected to participate in next year’s simultaneous nationwide run being organized by Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) annually.

PhilHealth said it expects some 4, 000 runners in Pangasinan to join the nationwide run on February 15 next year, dubbed as “PhilHealth: Ready, TseKap, Go!” to celebrate its 20thanniversary.

“TSeKaP” is an acronym for “tamang serbisyo para sa kalusugan ng pamilya.”

Proceeds from the event which will be held at the Jose de De Venecia Highway Extension in Dagupan City will be donated to Haven Regional Center for Women, a center catering to women and children victims and survivors of abuse, said PhilHealth Regional Vice President Elvira Ver.

Last year’s beneficiary was Kanlungan Foundation Incorporated in La Union.”

Registration fees are: 20 kilometers (P700), 10K (P550), 5K (P400) and 3K (P300).

Jose Mones, over-all run coordinator for the region, said running has become a more acceptable form of promoting an advocacy, supporting a cause and encouraging members to take a more active role in their membership.

Meanwhile, Mayor Belen Fernandez hailed PhilHealth’s contribution to the “Alagang Balon Dagupan” health program of the city.

She said PhilHealth helped the city purchase medicines through the capitation fund.

Alagang Balon Dagupan was recently recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the benchmark of health services in developing countries. (HRA/PNA/PIA)
