Seal of Good Local Governance awardees known this month

LINGAYEN– The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is set to release this month the list of awardees for this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) when it celebrates the Local Government Month.

This was bared by DILG-Pangasinan provincial director Reggie Colisao, the SGLG requires LGUs to pass three core assessment areas namely, good financial housekeeping, disaster-preparedness, social protection, and must have any one of the identified essential areas: environmental management, peace and order, and business friendliness and competitiveness programs.

The evaluation was held from May 10 until July 3, 2014 by the Regional Assessment Teams.

SGLG was preceded by Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) launched by late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, that focused on good financial housekeeping. (Johanne R. Macob)
