Poster-making contest about the past

BINMALEY – Leave it to the senior citizens to recall the good old times.

Going by that adage, the town launched “Bloom Binmaley: Throwback Thursday”, a poster-making contest for the senior citizens of the town, will be held at the Binmaley Museum here on October 30.

The event aims at “rediscovering the beauty and resources of Binmaley through the eyes of the senior citizens,” said Josefina Victorio of the Binmaley Tourism Office.

She said the 33 village councils agreed to support the project and will encourage the participation of the senior citizens in their respective barangays.

Participants must be 60 years old and above and a resident of Binmaley for at least five years supported by certificate of residency from punong barangay and the head of the senior citizen organization in the barangay.

Deadline for submission of requirements is on or before Oct. 16. Contestants will be provided pastel color crayons, ruler, pencil, eraser, and illustration board.

Prizes are P5,000 for the first place; P3,000 (2nd place) and P2,000 (3rd place)
