THE Pangasinan Provincial Chorale (PPC) has again brought honors to the province for winning 4th place in the government chorale competition sponsored by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as part of the agency’s 114th anniversary last September 30 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

The PPC won a trophy, cash prize of P 50,000.00 and a certificate of participation. The PAG-IBIG Fund Chorale won the grand prize, followed by PAGCOR Voice Symphony (2nd Place) and Makati Employees Chorale (3rd Place).

Joy Nilo, PPC conductor, said members of PPC were taught advanced skills in theories and genres of chorale music and proper voice production before the contest and that helped them win a prize.

In 2012, PPC bagged 5th place when PPC first joined the government’s chorale competition.

Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. directed the creation of PPC in 2008 purposely to help revive classical Pangasinan songs and to promote Pangasinan language. The PPC is composed of 23 employees of the provincial government. (PIO-EjSorio)
