Espino rallies Team Pangasinan: “Aim High”
Lingayen – Finally, 294 athletes have been selected to wear the colors of Team Pangasinan to compete in the forthcoming Batang Pinoy Luzon Leg which be held in Naga City.
The two-day elimination games held last week saw some 2,508 athletes, coaches and trainers from 34 towns and four cities of the province competing for the honor.
Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr. assured the athletes of his full support for their planned intensive training for two weeks before they will be sent for the regional games.” The players will be accommodated at the NRSCC dormitories to enable them to have easy access to the sports facilities for their training. “We will also get conditioning coaches for them,” he added.
He rallied Team Pangasinan to “aim high for the Batang Pinoy National Games” and asked sports officials and tournament managers to work together to fully prepare athletes who will represent the province.
Finally, he directed the delegation to learn and sing the Pangasinan hymn by heart as a gesture of their love and respect for the province.
Meanwhile, Executive Assistant III Modesto Operania who serves as Provincial Sports Director noted the influx of more participants this year and said the BP elimination games also served as “training opportunity” for the athletes who will compete in the forth-coming Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Meet.
