URDANETA CITY- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) revenue district office 6 (RDO6) remains optimistic that it can still meet the target by the end of the year by going after delinquent taxpayers and maintaining its excellent customer service.

Atty. Nasrollah Conding, revenue district officer of RDO6, their tax mapping of unregistered businesses and maintaining the excellent rating of their customer service, and their focus on corporations or individual taxpayers with known high delinquency rates have helped them greatly improve their collections.

Nenita Diaz, revenue collection chief RDO6 admitted that while the cumulative collection of the district office from January to September 30 this year is suffering a P143 million deficit, its revenue collection increased by 4. 22%.

“We are still positive that we can reach our target at the end of the year”, said Diaz.

Conding explained that through the relief system of the national office enables his office to trace the transactions of multi-national corporations to local corporations or businessmen in the districts.

However, Conding was also quick to assure taxpayers that his office will strictly observe due process in their effort to collect.

RDO6 was able to surpass its targets last August by 14% because of a delinquency that was proven and paid.

He said the tax mapping of the agency will continue especially in the last quarter of the year with the onset of the Christmas celebration when vendors flock to the malls to sell their products.

“We have mandated the establishments to submit to us the lists of registered businesses within their premises to make sure that their vendors are registered with the BIR”, said Conding. (Hilda M. Austria)
