BINMALEY- “Fear of the Lord is the best antidote.”

Thus said P/Superintendent Marlo Castillo, new chief of the Binmaley Police Station (BPS), who has launched a moral recovery program for the station’s personnel to improve their morale and discipline, in response to recorded increasing involvement of police officers in criminal activities.

He said that if policemen are God-fearing, they will not resort to being “dirty cops.”

The BPS holds a spiritual enhancement session every Monday, right after the flag raising ceremony, facilitated by Methodist Church Pastor Rev. Tony Garson.

Castillo also said that BPS operatives are encouraged to attend the Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday Holy masses, as well. “I stress ang pagiging example ng PNP-Binmaley sa ibang police stations,” he said.

He also expressed support for the declared policy to conduct a lifestyle check on all police officers including PNP chief, Gen. Alan Purisima. Castillo assumed as BPS officer-in-charge chief of police last September 8, vice P/Supt. Ferdinand De Asis.  (Johanne R. Macob)
