SP OKs city’s P18.8 M supplemental budget
THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), in a special session last Oct. 1, passed a supplemental budget proposed by the Office of Mayor Belen Fernandez in the amount of P18.8 million funded by savings from personnel services from various offices during the third quarter of the year and last year’s budgetary surplus.
Consequently approved during the special session was a corollary resolution of the City Development Council endorsing the realignment of P3.8 million from the General Fund surplus for Calendar Year 2013; and personnel services savings in various offices in the amount of P15 million duly certified by City Development Coordinator Romeo Rosario.
At least P11.2 million of Supplemental Budget No. 1 was allotted to cover additional outlay for the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) and other professional services totaling P9.2 million’ and additional outlay for consultancy fee of various offices in the amount of P2 million.
The other outlay include the cost of construction of the Island Tour Port area at the vicinity of the Star Plaza Hotel along the Pantal River, P3 million; purchase of food carts as Local Government Unit counterpart under the DOLE-Kabuhayan Program-Nego Kart project, P500,000; MOEE under donations account for indigent senior citizens, P300,000; MOOE under the mayor’s office to be used for training and seminar expenses, P400,000; gasoline, oil and lubricant expenses, P500,000; representation expenses, P400,000; advertising expenses, P300,000; and printing and binding expenses, P300,000.
Other outlays are MOOE under the donation account of the City Social Welfare and Development Office for financial assistance to indigents, P500,000; MOOE under the City Public Information Office to fund advertising expenses, P250,000; and printing and binding expenses, P250,000; additional outlay for gasoline expenses under the General Service Office, P100,000; purchase of various electrical materials for the repair of streetlights, P449,388;and various electrical materials and decorations for the Island Tours Cruise Boats, P400,000.
