ALARMED by reports of involvement of police personnel in heinous crimes, the House of Representatives ordered P/Senior Inspector Reynante Panay and P/Superintendent Diomedes Bonalos to update the House on the shooting rampage inside the Pangasinan National High School in Llingayen.

Although already relieved from his post, Panay went to Congress Wednesday with Biay, Police Region 1 Director Chief Superintendent Roman Felix and Bonales.

They were invited to the hearing on policemen as perpetrators of crimes and involvement of policemen in crimes.

The agenda in Congress was primarily about 12 policemen allegedly behind in EDSA “hulidap” robbery-kidnapping incident on Sept. 1.

“These hoodlooms in uniform must be charged administratively and criminally, dismissed from the service and rot in jail with the common criminals without special treatment,” said second district congressman Leopoldo Bataoil in his earlier press statement.

Panay was the Lingayen Police Station COP when the incident happened while Bonalos is the chief of police station of Anda where suspect Police Officer 3 Domino Alipio was assigned at the time of the shooting.

Bataoil, a former police director, added, “They are disgrace to the noble profession. Swift action against them will serve as a strong warning and deterrence against anyone who tries to emulate their evil ways.”

Alipio is now detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Dagupan City.

SP INQUIRY

Meanwhile, the sanggunian panlalawigan on Monday approved a resolution authored by Board Members Ranjit Ramos Shahani and Amadeo Espino III directing the Committees on Education and Public Order and Safety to conduct an inquiry, in aid of legislation, on the shooting rampage incident at the PNHS on Sept. 1.

The resolution said the inquiry should lead to the drafting of a measure that will guarantee the safety and security of school officials, teachers, staff members and students within the school premises. (Tita Roces/Johanne R. Macob/PNA)
