Escaped inmates arrested here

TAYUG—Three of the four inmates who escaped from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Cabarroguis, Quirino last September 10 were recaptured here and in San Nicolas town this province Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Brendon Palisoc, police chief here, said Robert Afan, 23, single, resident of Aurora West, Diffun, Quirino was nabbed at 6:00 a.m. of Sept. 17 after he tried to take a motorcycle of his victim identified as Joelymar Pangangaan, resident of Barangay Libertad this town at gunpoint. Recovered from the suspect is one caliber 9mm Taurus marked as BJMP property.

Senior Inspector Felimon Oligo, San Nicolas police chief, said at around 7:20 am of Sept. 17, they captured Danny Bayani, 26, a resident of San Isidro, Diffun, Quirino during an Oplan Sita when he tried to evade police elements here.

Oligo eventually pointed to the location of another an escapee, Roberto dela Cruz, in San Nicolas. Their other companion, Remynald Cabe, remains at large

Dela Cruz and Cabe are facing illegal possession of firearms case, while Afan was charged with robbery and Bayani was accused of rape. (Tita Roces)
