Wanted: farmers and construction workers for Japan

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office 1 will hold three special recruitment activities in Pangasinan for employment in Japan’s agriculture and construction industry.

DOLE 1 Regional Director Grace Ursua said the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has approved a local recruitment agency’s job orders for various agricultural and construction positions.

The recruitment will be held on August 25-26 in Alaminos City; August 28 at the Public Employment Service Office of Manaoag; and September 4 at the Public Employment Service Office of Bani.

The job orders are cultivation farmers, dairy workers, vegetable farmers, food processing workers, fish processing workers, tillers, welders, metal press workers, carpenters, frame workers, water proofers, construction molders, scaffolders and others.

Based on the National Wages and Productivity Commission’s website as of July 31, 2014, daily minimum wage in Japan ranges from US$50.55 to US$71.10 or P2, 414.57 to P3, 090.

Applicants are advised to bring their resumes, transcript of records, diplomas, employment and training certificates, 2” x 2” pictures and other proofs of credentials. (PIA/April Montes)
