According to his 24-year-old mother Pamela, who received P5,000 worth of starter kit, Baby John Paul weighed three-kilogram and is the family’s second child.

Her eldest son, two-year-old Paul Jake, was also born on July 27th.

The Pedronios are natives of Binalaoan, Calasiao.

Ellsworth Gonzales, officer in charge of the Provincial Population Office, said that the birth of Baby John officially raised Pangasinan’s population to the projected 3,052,623 this year, up from its 2,779,000 population in 2010, based on a population growth rate of 1.34 percent.

Gonzales said the “100 Millionth Baby” search was a call to usher in a symbolic hope for a better quality of life for the next generation and to underscore the need for responsible parenthood and the impact of the 100-million population on the family resources, community, and national economy.  (Johanne R.
