Barangay Liga kapitans meet with Cojuangco
COJUANGCO UPDATES
THIRTY-five presidents of the Liga ng mga Barangay in different towns and cities in Pangasinan responded to the invitation of former Pangasinan fifth district Congressman Mark Cojuangco for a meeting at the Urdaneta City Cultural Center on Friday, August 8.
Cojuangco, who was overwhelmed and thankful for the positive response of the Liga ng mga Barangay presidents, explained his program thrust as part of his roadmap for progress of Pangasinan in his 2016 gubernatorial plan.
He said the province’s big potential is on agriculture, it being an agricultural province.
But while attention is focused on agriculture, he said other equally important aspects for Pangasinan’s total growth like tourism, telecommunication/communication, business and industrial potentials must also be equally developed.
He cited the bright prospects of the business processing outsourcing business which is making a headway in Metro Manila and he sees no reason why such could not be replicated in Pangasinan.
Cojuangco said he would also push for the completion of the Alaminos City airport which is a big boon to tourism and the Sual seaport for economic growth.
“Instead of becoming envious, why don’t we help one another because if Pangasinan progresses, people will be benefited,” he said.
Cojuangco said Pangasinan enjoys good road infrastructures with the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway of the Manila North Road and elsewhere connecting from north to south and east and west sections of the province.
He also told the Liga presidents about having value-added industries in case Pangasinan finds a way to have the cheapest energy source which would attract more investors.
“In general, that’s the direction I see,” he said after outlining some of his visions.
“Let’s create packets of success all over Pangasinan,” Cojuangco urged the top barangay leaders.
He also exhorted them “not to forget the small barangays that have less potentials”.
He said he would visit the barangays to know the people’s sentiments and needs.
After their informal meeting, Cojuangco invited the Liga presidents to go with him altogether to the inauguration of the San Roque Dam’s P4.3-billion re-regulating pond project that could further boost agricultural production in Pangasinan.
Present during the meeting were: Isagani Palaris (Asingan), Jose Peralta (Balungao), Woody Magarro (Natividad), William Cezar (Natividad), Wilfredo Sibolboro (San Manuel), Ruel Ferrer (San Quintin), Juius Ramos ( Sta Maria), Alicia Viray (Tayug), Lisandro Gonzales (Umingan), Oreo Sison (Agno), Salvador Camba (Alaminos City), Elmer Ocampo (Bani), Lary de Guzman (Burgos), Ludovico Bonustro (Dasol), Christian Barcelona (Mabini), Arsenio Merrera ( Binmaley), Jessie Punzal (Mangatarem), Mirla Balolong (Urbiztondo), Thelmamida Mencias (Alcala), Jerry Aradanas (Binalonan), Juanilo Alarcio ( Laoac), Fely Ann Maligsa (Pozzorubio), Carlito Queniones (Sison), Michael Brian Perez (Urdaneta City), Romeo Abrenica (Villasis), Paul Angelo Sales (Manaoag), Juvy Frialde ( Mangaldan), Hercules Magliba (San Fabian), Rogelio Dumalanta ( Bayambang), Allan Roy Macanalalay ( Calasiao), Erik Brian Domantay (Malasiqui) and Enrico Dale (San Carlos City).
