Jobs fair set on Independence Day

THREE jobs fairs are set in Region 1 on June 12, the commemoration of the 116th Philippine Independence Day.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 1 Director Grace Ursua announced that the fairs will be held at the Nepo Mall in Dagupan City, Civic Center in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, and Manna Mall in San Fernando City, La Union.

Ursua said, “We will let our jobseekers and unemployed have freedom from joblessness by facilitating their employment.”

The jobs fairs will be participated in by local employers and licensed recruitment agencies offering local and overseas job opportunities.

Meanwhile, on June 13, a business process solutions company will pre-screen applicants for 300 call center transcriptionists and agents at the Balikbayan Hall of Urdaneta Cultural Center in Urdaneta City.

The company, EXL International, is hiring in collaboration with the provincial government and the office of Board Member Ranjit R. Shahani.

Applicants must be a graduate of Nursing or other allied courses for the job as medical transcriptionist and medical insurance agent.

The Provincial Employment and Services Office will also hold a special recruitment activity on June 13 at the PESO Lingayen for various positions in Saudi Arabia such as mechanical engineers, quantity surveyors, electro-mechanical CAD operator, mechanical draftsman, electrical foreman, general foreman, health and safety officer, tile setter, welder, decorative artist, technician, duct installer, plumber, electrical engineer, equipment technician, mason, decorative carpenter, electrician, steel fixer, heavy equipment operator, duct fabricator, and AC technician.

Other various local and overseas jobs will also be offered on June 14 at a PESO-sponsored job fair.–Johanne R. Macob with report from PIO
