MALASIQUI is one town that allocates funds annually to serve school needs of some 18, 000 pupils.

The town’s young schoolers are provided new school bags and supplies for their use at each start of the school year.

Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. said that the distribution of school bags and school supplies such as notebooks, papers and pencils or ball pens has become an annual project of the local government unit (LGU) since his first term as the local chief executive.

The beneficiaries of the project are the day care, kinder, and elementary pupils of the 52 elementary public schools in the town.

“Education is for all and the LGU will help in anyway in order to ease the burden of each school year especially for our poor citizens,” the mayor said.

Domantay was a schoolteacher before he entered politics.

Meanwhile, the municipal government is preparing for the “Brigada Eskwela 2014”.

Each public school will receive P15, 000 upon submission of their program of works. – Hilda M. Austria
