LINGAYEN—Pangasinan products will be among those on display at the Diversity Business Exposition in California, USA scheduled on October 4, an exposure that is aimed at boosting the province’s exports.

Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. led a provincial government team that left for California last May 6 to meet with Pangasinenses based there and expressed hope that the trade fair will “open more channels of trade to further improve our economy”.

Calimlim said the team will hold a series of consultative meetings with various Pangasinan groups that constitute one of the biggest Filipino communities there.

The provincial government has been coordinating with the Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA Association Inc. (PB-USA Inc.) for the fair.

PB-USA president Eddie Ferrer, in a visit to Pangasinan in September last year for the Trade-Product Sourcing and Manufacturing Seminar for local producers and manufacturers, said several importers have expressed willingness to buy Philippine-made products, particularly those from the province.

A technical working group (TWG) for Product Development and Export Promotion chaired by provincial administrator Rafael Baraan was recently formed to assist local producers and manufacturers who will join the expo.

The delegation is composed of Board Member Clemente Arboleda, executive assistant Modesto Operania, and provincial accountant Art Soriano.—Johanne R. Macob
