GUARANTEED NO BALANCE BILLING

GOOD news for Dagupeños who have less in life.

The P1.9 million-capitation fund provided by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) assures them that their healthcare is assured and they will not be burdened by any unpaid bills for medicines and medical fees charged by government hospitals.

This was confirmed by the City Health Office (CHO) pursuant to the pronouncement of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III for the implementation of a universal health care program.

The fund will benefit some 11, 728 indigent families in the city, already issued PhilHealth card.

Elvira Ver, vice president of PhilHealth Regional Office I, said the families, who were identified as indigent and registered as PhilHealth members can receive quality healthcare in any government hospital with no out-of-pocket money incurred from them.

The PhilHealth card granted to the poor residents includes the no-balance-billing benefit in all medical cases.

Ver said cardholders should file a complaint with her office if a hospital refuses to acknowledge the guarantee provided by the healthcare package.

“No balance billing policy provides that no other fees and expenses, far above and beyond the package rate, shall be charged to the indigent members”, said Ver. (PIA Pangasinan/EMS)
