Children with impaired hearing to receive aid

NO kid should suffer in complete silence.

This was declared by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez as she announced the arrival of medical experts from the University of Sto. Tomas on April 30 to screen some 60 children in the city with hearing impairment who would be recipients of hearing aids.

“The hearing aids will be given for free to our children with impaired hearing so they can live normally like us,” Fernandez said.

Fernandez urged parents of children with impaired hearing to take advantage of the opportunity as other doctors rarely conduct medical and surgical missions in the city.

“The doctors from UST are coming here just to help our citymates who are in need of medical treatment. And they are giving their services for free,” said Fernandez.

Through the help of UST, Fernandez has already sent 70 senior citizens to Manila for cataract operation. The operations were all successful. CIO)
