THE Dagupan City government’s OFW (overseas Filipino worker) Desk rescued another Dagupeńo working in Qatar after her employer tried to sexually abuse her.

The OFW identified as Carmelita Posadas, 37, of barangay Bonuan Binloc narrated to Mayor Belen Fernandez how she managed to escape from her employer when he tried to rape her. She then asked a friend to send a message to her family through Facebook and tell them about her ordeal.

But she was later arrested and kept locked up by her employer where she was not allowed to take a bath or even change clothes and forced to serve other employers with no compensation.

Posadas’ mother and barangay kagawad Herman Torio sought the help of the mayor and the OFW Desk for her repatriation.

Fernandez thanked the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration  (OWWA), the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office for their immediate action.

Posadas is the fifth Dagupeño OFW rescued by Fernandez and the OFW Desk. (CIO)
