7,000 PhilHealth cards more distributed in 31 barangays
MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez has started distributing the second batch of more than 7,000 PhilHealth cards to the city’s 31 barangays last May 20.
The activity is in line with the mayor’s health program called “Alagang Balon Dagupan” which she launched to further improve and expand the delivery of health services to the people.
Last March 19, some 4,287 PhilHealth cards were already given by the city government to beneficiaries identified by the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD).
Fernandez thanked PhilHealth and Interior and Local Secretary Mar Roxas for his quick response to her request for PhilHealth coverage for more beneficiaries in Dagupan City.
PhilHealth cardholders avail of benefits including the no balance billing policy in government hospitals, aside from free medicines, check-up and laboratory examination at the CHO.
She also announced that the city government, through the CHO, will provide free anti-rabies shots for those infected by rabies caused by dog bites.
Soon, reading glasses will also be distributed to senior citizens. (CIO)
