11 schools get book donations
Lingayen- – -Some 25,000 books donated by the University of Cordilleras (UC) in cooperation with the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) were distributed to public schools in 11 towns.
The activity was part of the university’s Book Donation Program launched in 2010.
Cheryl Roldan, chief Librarian of UC, and Maj. Agnes Lynnette Flores of the PMA Public Affairs Office said that it has been the tradition of both their institutions to support worthy undertakings that help local schools throughout the country.
Roldan said that the project has been going on for four years and supported by friends in the United States.
Among the recipients were public primary and secondary schools in Agno, Binalonan, Pozorrubio, San Nicolas, Sison, Asingan, Bani, Natividad, San Nicolas, Lingayen, and San Carlos City. The Pangasinan Provincial Library was also included as among the beneficiaries.
Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. earlier thanked the donors as he commended the UC and the PMA for their worthy project.
The books are reference materials on science, literature, mathematics, and activity workbooks. (With report from PIO/RRB)
