Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism is a Pangasinense

‘TIS the season of beauty pageants.

In the national front, Pangasinan is celebrating and sharing in the victory of one of its own, Parul Shah, who won last week as Binibining Pilipinas Tourism in the prestigious national pageant.

Sixth District Board Member Ranjit R. Shahani said Shah’s crown is expected to help promote Pangasinan as a tourism destination, especially in the forthcoming summertime festival, Pista’y Dayat (Sea Festival) that will hold its own Limgas na Dayat (Maiden of the Sea) beauty pageant.

PARUL SHAH3The provincial board passed a resolution last week commending the triumph of Shah, who has roots in Tayug and San Nicolas towns, in the competition participated in by 40 ladies.

“During the pageant, she was equally outstanding in her stunning beauty with the other winners and showed brainpower and self-confidence in facing every category,” the resolution said.

Shah, thanked her provincemates through a text message sent to Shahani, for the support throughout her Bb. Pilipinas journey.

Before the pageant, Shah paid a courtesy call on Gov. Amado Espino Jr.

Meanwhile, 20 ladies from different provinces in Luzon, but mostly from Pangasinan, are competing for this year’s Miss Magic crown.

The bets were presented to the members of the press in the afternoon of March 31 at the Metroplaza event center in Dagupan City.

The candidates are Vanessa Murray (Rosales), Shernille Wee Kah Huat (Sual), Daphne Mae Tuazon (San Carlos City), Gelli Joyce Queyquep (Dagupan City), Mariz Songcuan (San Fabian), Jackielyn Dulay (Nueva Ecija), Miezl Jeannelli Ramos (Urdaneta City), Kelly Cassandra Margate (Mangatarem), Enya Neyens (Lingayen), Rosette Manuel (San Jacinto), Crisbelle Jasmin (Mangaldan), Mariella Visperas (Asingan), Ma. Angelica Cruz (Sta. Barbara), Melkie Lorenzana (Ilocos Sur), Clarrisse Isanan (Dagupan City), Joanabelle Solomon (Manaoag), Diana Rose Ingco (Villasis), Joanna Marie Lee (Urdaneta City), Orielle Kim Basali (Urdaneta City), and April Soliven (La Union).

The grand coronation night will be on May 3 at the Villasis Public Auditorium.
