Ms. Sual is Limgas 2014 “Darling of the Press”

LINGAYEN– “Innovative.”

This was the answer of Jacqueline Macatiag when asked to describe herself, which won the hearts of the members of the media during the presentation of the 25 Limgas na Pangasinan 2014 candidates to the press on March 24.

© 2014 Willie Lomibao ImagesMacatiag, a 22-year-old lass from Sual, impressed the local journalists as she put across her ‘innovative’ self side by side with what she considers the innovations and changes in her hometown.

“Sual is a thriving town…and I’m a very proud Sualinian,” she said.
Macatiag, who was previously crowned Miss Sual in 2011, grew up in London, United Kingdom but comes home to Pangasinan every two years.

“Although I was born in UK, I trace my roots in Bacquioen, Sual. I regularly come home to the Philippines and I love spending vacations in Sual,” she said.

PAGEANT CHANGES

Meanwhile, the pageant committee chairperson, Provincial Treasurer Marilou Utanes, disclosed some changes initiated this year to make the winning Ms. Limgas more competitive in national and international contests.

The minimum height requirement, for example, has been changed from 5’3″ to 5’4″ while the percentage of intelligence in the judging criteria has been increased from 30% to 40%.
Utanes said the beauty search aims to find young lady Pangasinenses who will help promote tourism in the province and represent Pangasinan in national beauty contests.

The 24 other Limgas na Pangasinan 2014 bets, arranged based on their candidate numbers are: Mae Kathleen (Tayug), Princess Khrista Ventura (Sison), Marimar Miranda (Dagupan City), Mary Joy Veras (Bugallon), Irene Badion (Burgos), Apple Joy Bacay (Alaminos City), Marielle De Vera (Binmaley), Danille Joy Tolentino (Alaminos City), Justine Veronica Roque (Bolinao), May Averence Hortaleza (Dagupan City), Cindy Tomelden (Sta. Barbara), April De Guzman (Binmaley), Sunshine Escat (Urdaneta City), Marienne De Guzman (Lingayen), Angela Tayag (Asingan), Allysa Ashley Calimlim (Villasis), Jefferlyn Perez (Bayambang), Carla Exclamador (Lingayen), Sheena Cabagui (Urdaneta City), Divina Tanda (Alaminos City), Yaldene Ferrer (Lingayen), Marla Razon (Calasiao), Crystal Kim Mararac (Dagupan City), and Almarie Quintos (Anda).
