Mayor Belen issues alert vs. red tide
MAYOR Belen Fernandez alerted the City Agriculture Office to take appropriate measures in view of the bulletin issued by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) that the coastal waters of Bolinao and Anda are now affected by paralytic shellfish poisoning or red tifde toxin.
The mayor was alarmed because some of the fishes and shellfishes being sold at the Dagupoan Fish Market come from Bolinao and Anda, thus the need to check the miscellaneous invoices of every truck coming to Dagupan to find the source of their cargo.
All types of shellfish gathered from the two towns are not safe for human consumption.
