SOME 110 indigent families in Dagupan will receive galvanized iron sheets and marine plywood as part of the P550,000 material assistance project of the  National Housing Authority (NHA).

Mayor Belen Fernandez received the check for the project from City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) officer-in-charge Lea Aquino during last Monday’s executive meeting with department heads.

Aquino said the amount is the first batch of housing assistance from the NHA, with the second batch amounting to P1.5 million for core housing of indigent families living in danger zones.

The beneficiaries will be identified by DSWD.

Fernandez sought the funding from the NHA last year in response to the request of indigent families in 22 barangays.—LVM
